Australia retains Motocross of Nations with a commanding victory in America
CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA (October 2025) – In a stunning display of speed, strategy and sheer determination, Team Australia has cemented its place in motocross history by winning the 2025 Motocross of Nations (MXoN) at the iconic Ironman Raceway in America.
Selected by Motorcycling Australia and backed by MXStore, the trio of Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence and Kyle Webster (all on Hondas) secured their nation’s second consecutive Chamberlain Trophy, making them the first team to achieve back-to-back victories since France a decade ago.

Australia’s final winning margin was emphatic, defeating host nation America by 14pts (19 to 33), with France (33pts) third on a countback from Belgium (43pts) and Slovenia (57pts).
“I’m at a loss for words right now,” said an elated Hunter Lawrence from the top of the podium. “Come check with me later and I will have a lot to say. I am so proud of the team. Kyle rode his heart out, but got put on the ground in both first turns and charged back. Jett had an unreal first moto. Australia: we did it baby, back-to-back.”
The MXoN victory completed a remarkable weekend for motorcycle racing talent from Down Under, with Australia finishing first and third respectively in the Speedway of Nations and Speedway of Nations2 crowns in Poland.

The path to victory was paved with dominant performances. Jett Lawrence (MXGP) set the tone for the day with a commanding win in the opening MXGP/MX2 moto, taking the lead early and controlling the race from the front. Not to be outdone, Hunter Lawrence (Open) was in a class of his own, storming to victory in the Open/MX2 and MXoN-ending MXGP/Open motos.
The final moto became a Lawrence brothers showcase. Hunter seized the lead early and checked out, while Jett recovered from an early crash to slice his way back through the field to a podium position, securing the points needed to clinch the overall victory.
Hunter’s 1-1 and Jett’s 1-3 sensational scorecards helped shape Australia’s total, while completing the golden triangle was reigning ProMX champion Kyle Webster (13-15) whose contribution was defined by grit and resilience. After being taken down in the first turn of both his motos, Webster charged through the pack and scoring crucial points to kept Australia in the hunt.
Hunter and Jett both claimed the individual honours in their respective classes, while Webster was fifth overall in MX2.

Peter Doyle, CEO of Motorcycling Australia, hailed the monumental achievement.
“This is a landmark moment for Australian motorcycling. To see our teams simultaneously win the two premier team world championships in motocross and speedway in the same weekend is simply phenomenal.
“The back-to-back Motocross of Nations victory, achieved against the toughest competition on American soil, speaks volumes about the talent, dedication, and world-class professionalism of Jett, Hunter and Kyle.
“Coupled with our speedway successes in Poland, we are sending a clear message to the world: Australia is the nation to beat in motorcycle racing. This is a golden age for our sport, and these achievements will inspire a new generation of Australian champions.”
