GAS GAS Factory Racing’s Blake Fox has been crowned the Maxxis MX3 Class Champion in the Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX), after a dominant display of riding that saw Fox only relinquish the top step of the podium one time throughout the 2021 season on his way to scoring a massive 147 out of a possible 150 available Championship points.

The crowning of Blake Fox as Maxxis MX3 class Champion also cements a new era for Australian Motocross into the record books, as the newly formed MX3 class debuted for the first time in 2021 ProMX, featuring updated age rulings allowing junior racers to compete in the class earlier than ever before. With massive gates of riders across all rounds in MX3 and fantastic feedback from riders and the industry alike, it is safe to say that MX3 has been a welcome addition to Motocross racing on a national level.

“I had all the right people around me this year with the GAS GAS Factory Racing Team and our partners, I can’t thank them enough. Maitland and Canberra were stand out rounds for me and I really enjoyed the new MX3 class format, hats off to MA and ProMX for introducing that for the younger riders, I enjoyed racing them all this year” commented Fox at the end of season press conference.

Yamaha Junior Racing’s Ryder Kingsford would come home 2nd overall in the Maxxis MX3 Championship in what was an impressive debut in the series for the young rider from NSW. 

“I’m excited to be up here to finish my first season in MX3 in 2nd overall. We had a solid preseason and a great start to the season with the moto win at Wonthaggi. I learned a lot about being patient and not rushing when racing on professional level race tracks and I will take that into next year to be more prepared. Thanks to Yamaha Australia and all of their help from the Yamaha Junior Racing program.” said Kingsford. 

Western Australia young sensation Kayden Minear turned heads with the fans and industry alike as the youngest rider in the class at just 14 years old would finish 3rd overall in the Maxxis MX3 Championship. The KTM Australia Junior rider showed an incredibly steep learning curve to land on the Championship podium in his first run at the MX3 class.

“I learned so much in my first season in MX3. I could really feel the benefit of being out on the track learning so much from the professional level conditions on the track andthe riders I was racing. I can’t wait for next year, thanks to KTM and all their support as part of the Junior Racing Team.” concluded Minear.
