Dunlop to sponsor MXW Holeshot Award in 2024 ProMX Championship
Dunlop’s partnership with the Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) will continue in 2024, with the iconic tyre manufacturer to sponsor the Holeshot Award in the Women’s MXW class.
The Dunlop Holeshot Award began in Wonthaggi (March 17), and will continue at Murray Bridge (June 23), Toowoomba (July 21) and Queensland Moto Park (August 17-18).
The opening salvo in Wonthaggi was a star-studded affair, with defending champion Charli Cannon and fellow Honda rider Emma Milesevic, Tahlia O’Hare (KTM), Taylor Thompson (Husqvarna), Madison Healey (GASGAS) and Danielle McDonald (Yamaha) among the 23 riders who fought for the turn one laurels – and prizemoney. Thompson scored the holeshot in the opening moto, and Cannon in the second.
Dunlop requires no introduction in the tyre universe, with a rich pedigree in motorsport dating back to the early 1900s with the then popular ‘reliability’ trials. The terms of reference have been widened appreciably since then, with lessons learnt from the intense rigours of competition ultimately benefitting consumers.
Today, Dunlop manufactures tyres for motorcycles, cars, SUVs, light commercials and trucks, with its powered-two-wheeler portfolio covering the touring, street, off-road and adventure segments. Included in that line-up, of course, is a huge range of motocross tyres for all terrains and surfaces.
“Motorsport is what has driven Dunlop for 100 years and we are never going to waver from that,” said Dunlop Australia Brand Manager, Joel Ryan.
“To that end, we’re proud to continue our association with the ProMX Championship, and we look forward to some intense competition in the MXW class – especially the frenetic battles for Dunlop Holeshot honours.”
