While racing has seen some strange times due to COVID-19 a new team has been brewing and now entered the motocross scene in Australia; GreyZone Pirate Life Racing with the signing of South Australian Mitch Norris to take on the MX1 class.

What started out as a gravity mountain bike team has now evolved into team owner and principal Nathan Newell’s vision of a dual discipline MTB and MX program.

“This is a huge moment for us as it’s always been the vision to include motocross into our racing program.”said Nathan. “Covid-19 has been tough however it has provided the opportunity to fast track conversations and look at our MX vision seriously. With the help from Pirate Life Brewing, Honda, Yarrive Konsky and Hondas associated partners, we’ve been able to put our first motocross campaign together.

On the signing of Mitch Norris, Nathan says that, “We have been following Mitch’s riding for many years and have always known what his abilities are as a rider. Coming off of an injury we saw it as a great opportunity to work with him through the remainder of 2020 and build into a serious assault on the 2021 season.”

Yarrive Konsky, Team owner of Factory Honda Racing in Australia added, “Our RIDE RED program provides riders the opportunity to better themselves. Mitch Norris is a very capable young man and we believe in his potential. When Nathan and Mitch informed us of their out of industry partner we were positively excited. Bringing in mainstream partners helps our sport reach new audiences. We are happy for Mitch and Pirate Life. Mitch along with other RIDE RED riders have the opportunity to attract their own sponsorships.
