The countdown is on for Round 1 of the inaugural Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, as teams have now locked in their line-ups and riders prepare for the action to get underway.

Motorcycling Australia (MA) and the ProMX Management Team have today announced a range of new initiatives for the 2021 Championship that will benefit and incentivize teams and riders and excite fans. 

After recent major announcements securing both title and presenting sponsorship partners for the Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX), the Championship is well positioned to offer teams and riders an opportunity to compete with added incentives in the inaugural season.

The added incentives for riders and teams will also provide fans with greater on track entertainment as riders battle for the Championship in their respective classes.

With ProMX Round 1 scheduled to kick off at Wonthaggi in Victoria on April 11, the hype and excitement has been continually building for the teams, riders and the motocross community who can’t wait to go racing in 2021. 

The new initiatives and developments for riders and teams include:

• Total prize money will be increased for the Championship and will be paid after each round which provides riders with more enticement to go harder ensuring fans get to see riders at their best chasing victory.
  
• New and exciting race formats which will see fans on the edge of their seats and test rider’s fitness, agility and team’s ability to adjust bike set-ups to match changing track conditions.
  
• Decreased rider entry costs, making it more affordable for riders to enter the Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, across all classes.
  
• Increased number of passes for teams and riders at each round of the Championship to ensure they can have more of their supporters and sponsors trackside, supporting them.

The inaugural Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, will see new race formats for MX1 class with alternating race formats at every second round throughout the eight round Championship.

Following the announcement last year regarding the support classes, the ProMX Management Team are excited to soon announce an additional support class to the series that is focused around the next generation of the sport. 

“We’ve spoken to teams, riders and our partners about the inaugural year of the 2021 Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, about these new initiatives the ProMX Management Team are introducing, and the feedback has been very positive,” Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle, said.

“These changes are about making each round exciting and challenging for our riders and also providing plenty of entertainment for fans at the track and we believe we have struck the right balance.

“We will also have some exciting news about the developments of our media platforms in the coming weeks.”

The ProMX Supplementary Regulations will be released on Friday, where all new initiatives, race formats and series information will be outlined in further detail.
