A full complement of six riders will represent Motorcycling Australia at the 2026 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship (WJMX) in the Czech Republic from July 3-5.

The impressive Team Australia line-up includes two riders with past WJMX experience, Seth Thomas and Blake Bohannon, alongside four newcomers to the pinnacle of junior world motocross competition: Ryder Madafiglio, Hudson Francis, Jayce Stocker and Cooper Ford.

The breakdown of class participation is as follows:

• 65cc: Madafiglio (NSW, Husqvarna) and Francis (Qld, Yamaha)
• 85cc: Bohannon (NSW, Yamaha) and Stocker (WA, KTM)
• 125cc: Thomas (NSW, KTM) and Ford (Tas, KTM)

The team manager is Ross Beaton.

All six riders are competing – or have competed – under the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) umbrella, with Madafiglio currently leading the KTM Group MX65 Futures after round one, with Francis third.

Bohannon was in a class of his own in the recently completed Fox Racing MX85 Cup, retaining the silverware after a perfect, undefeated season. Stocker also produced a powerhouse campaign, finishing second.

As well as competing in the 2025 WJMX, Bohannon was third in the 85cc class of the 2025 YZ BLU CRU World SuperFinal in the United States of America, with Francis third in the 65cc category. The SuperFinal was held as a support to the Motocross of Nations.

Meanwhile, Australia makes a welcome return to the 125cc two-stroke class at the WJMX in 2026, with current ProMX MX3 riders Thomas and Ford to fight for glory.

Thomas has competed in the last two WJMX events in the 85cc class, and in 2025 finished a brilliant third – adding to his name to the honour roll of Aussie WJMX podium finishers alongside Jett Lawrence, Bailey Malkiewicz, Tye Simmonds, Hunter Lawrence, Kayden Minear, Ky Woods and Caleb Grothues. Jett Lawrence (65cc) and Malkiewicz (125cc) also won their respective classes.

The Team Australia riders have also cut their teeth in the KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship – the biggest standalone junior event in the country – over recent years, featuring prominently with victories and podiums.

The 22nd running of the WJMX will be held in Jinin, which previously hosted the event in 2005 and 2013. The natural terrain track is very technical, which will provide a solid challenge for riders in all three categories.

The level of talent in the WJMX is extraordinary, with over 200 riders from 40 countries expected to line up on the starting gates in the Czech Republic.

Ross Beaton, WJMX Team Manager:
“I am excited about the opportunity to take the team to Jinin this year. The track is clay-based and undulating, so it should be a great race track and provide some great racing for the boys.”

Peter Doyle, CEO, Motorcycling Australia:
“I am absolutely delighted with the line-up of talented young riders who will represent Motorcycling Australia on the world stage at WJMX in 2026.

“In line with the continued growth of motocross racing in Australia, MA is proud to continue supporting juniors on the world stage and l’m looking forward to seeing how this year’s team performs against the world’s best.”
