Kawasaki doubles down on ProMX, secures MX1 naming rights for 2026

Off the back of last week’s announcement that Kawasaki is returning to the ASBK Championship as the Supersport naming rights partner, the brand has doubled down and recommitted to a second year as the category naming rights partner for the MX1 premier class in the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores.

Kawasaki Motors Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to the pinnacle of Australian motocross, securing the naming rights partnership for the premier MX1 division in 2026. This renewal ensures the iconic lime green brand remains at the forefront of the ProMX Championship, backing the stars and machinery of the country’s toughest motocross competition.

This latest commitment to the MX1 class forms part of a broader commitment by Kawasaki to Australian motorsport, following its recently confirmed return as the naming rights partner for the Supersport category in the Penrite Australian Superbike Championship presented by Pirelli (ASBK). By anchoring itself in both the premier motocross division and the road racing feeder class, Kawasaki is reinforcing its dedication to fostering racing talent from the dirt to the tarmac.

Kawasaki’s legacy in Australian motocross is built on decades of success. The race-proven KX450 continues a celebrated off-road heritage dating back to the early 1970s, consistently proving its mettle on the toughest tracks in the country and serving as the ultimate platform for riders aiming for national glory.

Kawasaki Motors Australia Lead Brand Marketing Specialist Gina Costello reinforced the brand’s commitment to the category.

“It is a privilege to continue Kawasaki’s support of ProMX and ASBK in 2026. Through our dealer network, we are developing the next generation of Team Green champions while backing today’s top contenders. Kawasaki builds the machines — our riders make them legendary. Lime Green carries a legacy of performance, and with it, a responsibility to pave the way for the riders of the future.”

Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle expressed his delight at Kawasaki’s renewed and expanded commitment. “Having a brand with the global pedigree and local passion of Kawasaki recommit to our national championships for 2026 is a massive vote of confidence in the direction of our sport,” said Doyle. “Their support spans both road and dirt, which is vital for the health of motorcycling in this country. It’s not just about supporting the elite riders at the pointy end of the field in the MX1 and Supersport classes; it’s about reinforcing the entire pathway for aspiring racers who look up to these categories. We are incredibly proud to have Kawasaki as a cornerstone partner for both ProMX and ASBK for another year.”
