Six days after a chaotic penultimate round of the 2025 series in Toowoomba, the Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, roars into action for a thrilling finale this weekend at Queensland Moto Park (QMP).

Although Polyflor Honda Racing’s Brodie Connolly has already secured his second career Pirelli MX2 title, the two other regular classes – Kawasaki MX1 and MAXXIS MX3 – are set to come down to an epic final round showdown.

The final round of this year’s series will be held at QMP over two action-packed days, giving race fans an incredible opportunity to witness world-class racing all weekend long.

Combined with two support classes, the sprawling, hard-pack QMP circuit is guaranteed to present some brilliant racing as riders put it all on the line one last time.

Kawasaki MX1
Questions were in the air entering round seven after former Kawasaki MX1 class red plate holder, Jed Beaton (Vic), bowed out of this year’s series after a practice incident left him with a season-ending leg injury in the lead-up. The focus then shifted to defending class champion, Kyle Webster (Vic), and series rival Nathan Crawford (QLD).

The two riders tussled for position across the dual moto format, and when the final checkered flag flew, it was Boost Mobile Honda’s Webster who increased his series lead to 16pts over KTM Racing Team’s Crawford. The battle for the title is far from over, as these two look to capture the coveted number one plate.

Also amongst the action is the ever-improving Wilson Todd (QLD), with the Honda Racing rider having shown immense resolve over the 2025 season to get him back into race-winning shape, as demonstrated last weekend. The Triumph-equipped revelation Zachary Watson (QLD) will be looking to see out this season strong, while former champion Luke Clout (NSW) will size up a podium finish on board his Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki.

Raceline Husqvarna TDub Racing’s Todd Waters (QLD), Levi Rogers (QLD), and Bryce Ognenis (Vic) see out the top 10, and will look to end season 2025 on a high note.

Notably, current P6 rider and 2015 MX1 champion Kirk Gibbs has called time on his decorated career with over 20 seasons in the books, marking one of the more successful domestic racing careers to date. The KTM Racing Team rider is eyeing a strong performance at QMP, to appropriately bookstop what has been a brilliant career.

Plenty of action remains in the Kawasaki MX1 class entering QMP, with a title-deciding battle the headliner.

Pirelli MX2
Polyflor Honda Racing’s Brodie Connolly (Vic) was once more the class of the field this season, wrapping up the Pirelli MX2 title with one round to spare this weekend in QMP. With the pressure off, the remaining two motos are set to be a showdown for bragging rights and provide a shot in the arm of confidence entering 2026.

Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha’s Ryder Kingsford (NSW) has posted a valiant effort in 2025, and will undoubtedly look to chase round overall win number three to join his Appin and Gillman triumphs. Both Connolly and Kingsford are facing a rejuvenated Noah Ferguson (QLD), however, with the KTM Racing Team ace having shown blistering speed last time out.

Speaking of Ferguson, he is P3 in the Pirelli MX2 overall standings, holding a 7pt advantage over NFAL Honda’s Alex Larwood (SA). The second factory KTM of Byron Dennis rounds out the top five, and adds to the intriguing battle at the head of he field.

Completing the top 10 includes Kingsford’s teammate Jayce Cosford (QLD), New Zealand’s Cobie Bourke, class newcomer Seth Burchell (NSW), as well as Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki’s Rhys Budd (NSW) and the other Team Green rider, Kaleb Barham (QLD). The points remain tight between these riders, with each looking to make a late-season series climb.

With the title decided, the Pirelli MX2 class will be a purely entertaining one to watch, as all young riders set to put on a show one last time in 2025.

Maxxis MX3
It’s been a clinical season for Honda Racing’s Kayd Kingsford (NSW), who holds a sizeable 44pts over the previous MAXXIS MX3 round winner and Honda-mounted, Jet Alsop (QLD). Kingsford needs to cruise it home for the title, while Alsop will make a last-ditch effort to keep his championship hopes alive.

Early series leader Ky Woods (NSW) has exited this year’s campaign after the Monster Energy WBR Yamaha rider sustained a broken collarbone in moto one at Toowoomba, while Seth Shackleton (WA) got the best of Jack Deveson (NSW) last weekend, putting 7pts between them in a battle that has lasted all season.

Notably, both Monster Energy WBR Yamaha’s Koby Hantis and KTM’s Jackson Fuller were strong in Toowoomba, and after an injury affected the 2025 season, both riders are chasing a strong finish to this year.

The title is still alive in MAXXIS MX3, with Kingsford looking to finish the job on what has been an ultra-strong campaign.

Ezilift MXW
SGT Logistics Honda’s Charli Cannon (QLD) has posted yet another convincing performance in the EZILIFT MXW class this season, having swept all six motos contested in 2025, and holds a 40pt margin in the series as a result.

The defending champion will face off once more with current second-placed rider, Taylah McCutcheon (QLD), with the Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki rider 7pts clear of P3’s Taylor Thompson (NSW).

Monster Energy WBR Yamaha’s Madi Simpson (QLD) and KTM’s Darci Whalley (QLD) complete the top five, as the nation’s fastest female racers are destined to put on a show one final time at QMP this weekend.

KTM Group MX65 Futures
After two rounds of racing this season, Archie Black (NSW) holds the KTM Group MX65 Futures championship lead entering the finale, with Lucas Poole (Vic) and Nate Forwood (WA) hot on his heels in P2 and P3, respectively.

Opening round victor Mason Ezergailis (Vic) and Kyle Sproule (NSW) will be back on the line after representing Australia at the 2025 FIM World Junior Motocross Championship in France, with an eye to return to their front-running domestic ways at QMP.

The KTM Group MX65 Futures features some of the brightest up-and-coming Australian talent, with this young class one to watch as the next wave of future champions emerge!

Veterans (MXV)
At the other end of the age range from the 65cc division, QMP will again feature a stand-alone round of MXV Veterans racing in 2025 – catering to both the 30 to 39-year-olds and the 40+ crowd, who’ll be part of the Penrite ProMX Championship weekend.

These riders might be heading into the middle-age bracket, but don’t mistake that for slowing down – they’re often just as quick and determined as the younger racers, with post-race bragging rights arguably meaning even more in this category.

With this being a one-off appearance at one of the fastest natural-terrain tracks on the 2025 calendar, the Vets will be all in and elbows out, with no hesitation to ride wide if it gets them closer to that podium finish.
